New resource will help professors elevate their organization and management courses

Breakout Learning, the award-winning ed-tech company that uses the power of AI to monitor and evaluate small group discussions, is introducing comprehensive, discipline-specific teaching plans to help professors utilize the company’s growing catalog of interactive case studies and exercises.

Breakout’s Teaching Plan on Leadership was created by Noah Askin, Assistant Professor of Organization and Management at University of California Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business. Askin also serves as one of the Organizational Behavior practice leaders on Breakout’s Academic Advisory Board.

Professor Askin’s teaching plan encompasses topics typically covered in introductory courses in Leadership – from identity and authenticity to leading change. For each module, the leadership expert has carefully selected from Breakout’s modern, interactive case studies and experiences that bring the academic concepts to life. Students use Breakout’s award-winning format to engage in rich small-group discussions which are evaluated by AI. These AI insights give professors an in-depth view of student discussions and understanding, and improve student engagement in class.

The plan also indicates where Breakout experiences can be substituted for course materials professors are likely to already have on their syllabi—for instance, swapping out static Harvard Business Publishing and London Business School cases about Nanogene Technology and Microsoft with Breakout’s modernized experiences covering the same concepts.
