Breakout Learning has been named a finalist in four categories of the 2024 EdTech Awards, which were announced today to a worldwide audience of educators, technologists, students, parents and policymakers interested in building a better future for learners and leaders in the education and workforce sectors.

The EdTech Awards were established in 2010 to recognize, acknowledge, and celebrate the most exceptional innovators, leaders, and trendsetters in education technology. Breakout Learning is a finalist in the four award categories, simultaneous nods to the company’s transformational platform and entrepreneurs bringing it to bear.

2024 Ed Tech Leadership Awards

Breakout Learning delivers engaging educational content to students in online breakout rooms and then prompts small-group discussions which are moderated and graded by AI. The output gives instructors valuable insights into student preparation and commentary, leading to engaging and powerful classroom discussions. Launched only six months ago, the learning format is now in use at over 50 business schools including 15 of the top-20 schools according to the U.S. News rankings.

This year’s EdTech Award finalists were narrowed from the larger field and judged based on various criteria, including: pedagogical workability, efficacy and results, support, clarity, value and potential.

“Being named finalists in the EdTech Awards is a huge honor but not surprising at all," Ramit Varma, CEO of Breakout Learning, expressed. "Our team has poured their hearts into using AI to transform learning, helping students focus on critical thinking over just memorizing facts. It's incredibly rewarding to see our hard work and unique approach getting recognized by EdTech Digest and their respected awards.”

Editor-in-Chief of EdTech Digest Victor Rivero said: “Like our world, the whole of education—from K-12, higher education, workforce learning sectors—is currently in flux. To the fierce, persistent, and indefatigable innovators, leaders, and trendsetters of edtech—we salute you!”
